Autumn is in full swing, and with it its moody and unpredictable weather patterns. But Minneapolis-based painter Ashely Peifer's cheerful paintings are the perfect remedy for grey skies. I'm enamored with her recent paintings (all shown here were completed in 2015). Her palette is exquisitely bright, emphasizing her interest in "sweet" subjects. Her titles play on treats and candy, further emphasized by the cheerful colors and lighthearted forms, whether painted or collaged.

Keep up with Ashely's most recent work on Tumblr, and at her website, ashelypeifer.com.
