Before too much time goes by and I inevitably come back down to earth here in Wisconsin, it's imperative that I express how eye-opening, thought-provoking, and inspirational the past weekend was. I drove the thirteen hours down to Black Mountain, North Carolina for a whirlwind planning retreat with sixteen other artists, makers, and organizers who had been invited to participate in what amounted to one gigantic brainstorm.

I'll get into the specifics a bit more in another post, but for now let me just say that Black Mountain School is slated to be quite the experience in collaborative and participatory art making/learning/sharing with a ground crew that hails from the local area of Black Mountain as well as further along the east coast, across the country, and as far as Australia. It has only just begun to take shape, and over the next several months we'll be working very (very) hard to pull together this project for early summer 2016.

More details to come!
