  • The 602 Club

Join Kate Mothes at the 602 club in Appleton, WI for an informational and fundraising dinner in support of Black Mountain School, a brand new, residency-style arts education experience on the original campus of legendary Black Mountain College. In the spirit of the original called, BMS strives to provide a unique education experience for today's avant-garde generation. Young Space is collaborating with artists and organizers around the globe to make this school a reality, supporting communal and collaborative education for young artists as tuition costs for MFA programs continue to rise.

Kate will be making tacos (DIY in the spirit of this DIY school!) for a suggested donation of $10. Join us for a screening of some short films by Black Mountain School faculty members as well as a screening of the first and only documentary about the original Black Mountain College, Fully Awake (2008).

Black Mountain School was recently honored with a wonderful article in Art in America, as well as brief new blurbs recently in Artforum and Frieze. More information can be found at blackmountainschool.com.
